It all started with fireworks.... For those of you who know the story, Jared and I met in the fall when he moved out to Arizona in 2006...at that time both of us were jaded when it came to dating, let alone looking for marriage. We both told each other (repeatedly) that we didn't want to be serious. So for months we went out several times a week as friends. Going to lunch at Mango's, movies, and just hanging out. We never held hands, kissed or even sat close to one another. We got to know each other on a friend basis, but underlying we both felt the emotional pull to each other. At Christmas Jared went up to Joseph City for the holiday and while he was gone I realized how much I missed having him around, and so did he. So for New Years Eve Jared came over to my house and we hung out, planning on going out to some parties. At midnight we kissed for the first time...and needless to say we felt major fireworks!! It was very romantic. So Jared and I regarded New Years Eve a special day. We never would have guessed that the next year, instead of out celebrating, we would be in the hospital, just having our first baby together! Lacy was born on December 30th at 5lbs. 14oz. and we stayed in the hospital over New Years Eve.
The new year started off quietly as we all adjusted to the new baby. So many things I forgot since it was so long ago that Kaylee was born. I had a hard time with not having sleep. Lacy would only sleep at the longest 2 hours at a time and then would be up for hours. Jared would try to wake up with her, but since I was breastfeeding, I would have to get up anyway. Kaylee is my little savior, she was so much help and would gladly fetch diapers, blankets, anything I needed!
All in all January was quiet and spent indoors since RSV season was peaking and she was so little!
