4th of July

The 4th of July was so nice this year! Wonders of wonders, the weather was just beautiful! We went over to my best friend, Suzanne Ruesch's parents house in Mesa and had a big dinner. Then I stuffed my fat self into a bathing suit and we all went swimming. Kaylee learned how to do a new dive and fun playing with her friend Trista. Suzanne's husband, TJ, was the designated dolphin and took the kids for rides on his back all around the pool. I bet he was sore the next day, the girls really gave him a work out!

Jared doesn't like to swim so he was the "Picture-taker" which I'm glad he was there because this was Lacy's first time swimming in a pool by herself with just floaties! Usually we just go to Sunsplash, so she does rides and slides but doesn't really "Swim". But that day man oh man did she SWIM! Her little legs were going a mile a minute the entire time we were in the pool! She realized that she could jump into the pool all by herself if she had her tube and floaties! She felt like SUCH a big girl jumping in by herself!



This was also another first for Garrett. He had never been in the pool before. I got in and held him for a while to get him used to the water then I set him in the floatie. He kicked back, closed his eyes and was chillin. Then one of the kids jumped in the pool and splashed him in his face. He held his breath and then finally let out a HUGE scream! You would have thought a shark was nibblin on his bum! ha ha ha He cried and cried so finally he got out and Jared held him while I stayed in the pool with Lacy. :)

After the pool we went to downtown Mesa to see the fireworks. Since the 4th was on a Wednesday this year and probably since Mesa is mostly LDS people, a lot of the fireworks shows happened on Saturday night, which is when we did our party. We went down to the front lawn at the temple and layed out blankets and chairs. The kids ran around the grass and we has PERFECT view of the fireworks! For whatever reason, there was just a couple other families at the temple so it wasn't crowded. It was so pretty to see the fireworks going up around the temple!



Can you tell that Suzanne and I are best friends and think alike?? ha ha ha When it got time to change the kids into their swimming suits, Lacy and Whitney came out both in pink tutu suits! ha ha ha ha So cute!
