She's Mobile!!!!!!!!! Look out world, at just 6 months, Lacy is a crawling machine! She started getting up on all fours, but would just rock back and forth, she couldn't quite figure out how to make her arms and legs work. Then one night we were all getting ready for bedtime. Jared started the bathtub and I went to get her pajamas. We both thought one of us was watching her on the bed. It only took a minute before she scooted off the bed and fell. Thankfully I was lazy with the laundry and there was a pile of laundry that broke her fall. She calmed down and we gave her her bath. Afterwards we went down stairs and I put her on the floor while I made her a bottle. Get got up on all fours and instead of rocking back and forth, she started crawling!!! Jared laughed and said that the fall off the bed must have knocked some sense into her. ha ha. Ever since she figured out how to crawl there has been NO STOPPING her! She has turned into my little stalker! She just follows me everywhere! ha ha

Summer is wrapping up! It went by so fast! Last summer all I heard was a chorus of "I'm bored..I'm bored..I'm bored!" from Kaylee. So this summer we got busy! She had swimming lessons Monday-Friday all summer. She went from dog paddling to being able to do the butterfly stroke up and down the pool! She had a great swimming teacher who helped her a lot to build her self confidence in the pool. Next summer she wants to start taking diving lessons. Lacy had fun going down and watching her big sister swim. Since it can get scorching sitting out in the sun while she's having her lessons, I would go dip Lacy's toes in the pool and she would get so excited!

Also this summer, Kaylee started taking piano lessons. She has been very diligent about practicing the piano and is looking forward to someday soon getting her own piano so she doesn't have to practice on a keyboard anymore. Kaylee also enrolled in a summer reading program at the library. She loves to read and we would take a couple of trips to the library each week to stock up on new books. I think she's read about every book in the young readers section. ha ha Kaylee loved being home this summer because she could play with her little sister all day. Kaylee is an amazing big sister. She has been so much help to me that I don't think I could ever have done it without her! She is always so eager to help and Lacy just thinks the WORLD of Kaylee.Whenever she walks in the room Lacy goes nuts! She grins and crawls right over to her sister with big smiles! Kaylee incorporated her chores with playing with her little sister! She strapped on the baby's Snugli and started sweeping (one of her chores). She turned on her favorite CD (Taylor Swift) and danced around the kitchen with the broom and Lacy hanging off the front of her. Both girls were giggling like crazy!

Daddy is King:

I have a quote that I created for my vinyl lettering company, Wall Envy vinylwallenvy.blogspot.com and it says "Someday my prince will come, but Daddy will always be king" That saying rings true to Lacy and Jared. Since the moment she was born, she looked up at Jared and gave him the "kissy lips" then when they put her under the heating lamp, she screamed until she grabbed her daddy's finger and held on tight. Jared is a big gruff guy who just melts whenever Lacy is around. She's definitely a daddy's girl! In July Jared reaquainted Lacy with his first love...his dirt bike. She was a little bit older than she was the first time he showed her it. And this time he started it up and she got REALLY excited! She started kicking and grinning! We want to get her a small electric dirk bike for her first birthday...I think maybe when she turns 2...but Jared insists on getting her own when she turns 1. ha haHere are some cute Lacy & Daddy pictures that we took.
