Jared's home!

YEAH!!!!!!!!! Jared is home!!!! After being gone for a month and a half in North Carolina, he was able to fly home for Thanksgiving! I was so excited to see him when I picked him up at the airport, that I was nervous! I felt like I was going on a first date with the cute guy at school. It was so much fun to see him standing there!!!

His flight was delayed an hour, so we were behind schedule and we decided to drive straight back to Show Low so that we could see Lacy before she went to bed. We got just outside of town when all of a sudden all of the gauges on the truck went flying and the truck started smoking!! I FREAKED out thinking about how this is our only vehicle and it's Christmas time, and we don't have the extra money to pay for a huge repair bill. Jared was able to get the truck back to my parents house and we went down to AutoZone to buy a new clutch fan. Jared had pricing it before because we knew it was going out and it was about $300. We went to one part shop store and they were sold out...so I started stressing again...then we went to the second store, and they had only 2 left! and it was only $70!!!! Jared and my dad went home and together they were able to put it in the truck in only about 2 hours.

We got back on the road at about midnight. We were both EXHAUSTED but we enjoyed being back together. We were outside of the canyon, when we noticed that the gas was below empty. Jared said that the gauge was probably off because the truck overheated. So I said a silent prayer that we would make it to the gas station in Show Low okay. We pulled into the Whitings, and filled up the truck. We have a 24 gallon tank, and we filled up 23.9 gallons!!! Thankfully Heavenly Father stayed up to 3am to make sure we got home safely!

That morning when Lacy woke up, Jared ran in there to get her. It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen...Lacy got a HUGE smile and then curled up on his chest. She wouldn't let go for at least 30 minutes. She would pull away and look up at him and smile. Then she would curl right back up on his chest and be absolutely quiet. For anyone who knows Lacy, knows that holding still and being quiet isn't something that she does!!! So I knew that she was just so happy to see her daddy she didn't want to let him go! The rest of the trip she was practically glued to his side and wouldn't let him go out of her sight!
